Bleeding Hearts
We have three, robust Bleeding Heart plants that are all in full bloom.

Somebody worked a little Voodoo magic around here last night
Look what I found this morning sitting on our kitchen counter. A gorgeous blue raspberry bubblegum flavored donut, carefully placed in a crisp, white Voodoo Doughnuts bag. I assumed it was meant for me. Nope. It wasn’t. Good thing I didn’t eat it.

Cupcakes for Mimi
Today my friend Mimi went above and beyond, so I made her a box of these. The recipe for “One egg cake” comes from Joy of Cooking. To find my buttercream frosting recipe, go here.
Pink flowers
Love the radish
They’re crisp and colorful and easy to grow. I harvested these a few minutes ago and after a quick rinse, a trim with my knife and a sprinkling of salt, they’ll be history.
Dogwoods trees have a great shape and their blossoms are beautiful. This one’s blooming in our neighbor’s front yard.
It’s been a long day but a good one. Today’s day four on the new job and it went pretty well, the exception being trying to schedule recurring meetings through Outlook, and spending too much time looking for a non-existent conference room. I came home, walked 2 miles and put together a pretty wimpy dinner that’s not worth posting.
However, the early evening sun was setting on these bleeding hearts that grow under our enormous sequoia tree, and the different colors of green and pinks in the light caught my eye. There are so many flowers this year on these plants I may have enough to cut a few for a vase.
Tulips
I was wishing I had something to photograph when I realized the photo opportunity was staring me in the face. A little crystal vase of tulips was sitting not more than a foot away from my computer.
I want to paint this, too.
