Perhaps our best tomato season of the decade

As of yesterday, this sun gold tomato plant measured 13 feet. Weeks ago it grew above the 8-foot tall 2 x 2 that supports it and began waving around in the air without tethers. Now that it’s tied to another plant’s stake, it has created something of an arbor to walk under. As spectacular as this is, there are another five tomato plants that are all still pumping out tomatoes.

Rain is predicted in today’s forecast and meteorologists are hinting that the start of our rainy season is upon us. I just walked outside and the wind is blowing and the sky is dark.  :::sigh:::

Picking is on today’s to-do list and I think I had better hurry.
