Kitchen tool review, week 3

My vast collection of kitchen tools and gadgets hasn’t quite yet turned into a problem, at least in my opinion. The idea of presenting a different one each week could keep me going for a very long time.

This week’s featured tool (if it’s even classified as such) is my IKEA bread pan. My mother bought it for me only a year or so ago and even though my old bread pans haven’t yet been relocated from their current spot in a kitchen drawer to under a bed in the back of the house, they haven’t made their way into the oven for awhile, either.

This long, slender pan works perfectly for yeast breads and quick breads. The loaves slice up to be a nice size for sandwiches and I’ve found that quick breads bake more evenly in this pan. If you don’t have one and decide to get one, you may find that baking times need to be adjusted. My pumpkin bread bakes for an hour and 10 minutes in my old pans, but just under an hour in this one.

Happy baking!
