Coleslaw – back to the basics
My coleslaw doesn’t include fussy ingredients such as pineapple, corn, peppers, onions, or carrots (even though carrots are tolerable). It’s simple and clean and it worked really well with last night’s dinner that included pulled pork and my spicy grilled chicken wings (pictured).
Ingredients:
- 8 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Salt, to taste
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt and celery seed. Stir in shredded cabbage and mix well to combine. Cover and chill for an hour before serving.
